On April 1, 1998, the Nebraska Unicameral passed LB1161 establishing the Geologists Regulation Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. ยงยง 81-3501 to 81-3541. The Act provides for the licensure of professional geologists in Nebraska whose activities may affect public health, safety, and welfare.
The most recent changes to the Act were enacted through Legislative Bill 38 of the One Hundred Ninth Legislature, First Session, and became effective September 3, 2025. The latest revisions to Board rules were effective December 24, 2025.
